The Streaming Race Finally On

The Walt Disney Company's got 21st Century Fox for USD71 billion, and the streaming race is heating up… Netflix is in pole position. Hulu is about a lap behind, but all of a sudden Disney Plus comes out of the pit after a long stop: seeking to change…the game. Amazon Premium firing on all cylinders (100 million subscribers in the US alone and loaded with cash)…will it buy Spotify (or can Spotify launch its own car in the race, having that precious mobile phone ‘real estate’ and 100 million members)?

A few other teams joining the race in 2019: Apple’s streaming service to be announced imminently with a ‘smaller more curated offering’. A similar strategy perhaps to be adopted by an upcoming TimeWarner HBO streaming service? Are they too late to the race?
